A child who responds to routine problems with extreme frustration—crying, screaming, swearing, kicking, hitting, biting, spitting, destroying property, and worse. A child whose frequent, severe outbursts leave his or her parents feeling frustrated, scared, worried, and desperate for help. Most of these parents have tried everything-reasoning, explaining, punishing, sticker charts, therapy, medication—but to no avail. They can’t figure out why their child acts the way he or she does; they wonder why the strategies that work for other kids don’t work for theirs; and they don’t know what to do instead.

Dr. Ross Greene, a distinguished clinician and pioneer in the treatment of kids with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges, has worked with thousands of explosive children, and he has good news: these kids aren’t attention-seeking, manipulative, or unmotivated, and their parents aren’t passive, permissive pushovers. Rather, explosive kids are lacking some crucial skills in the domains of flexibility/adaptability, frustration tolerance, and problem solving, and they require a different approach to parenting.

Throughout this compassionate, insightful, and practical book, Dr. Greene provides a new conceptual framework for understanding their difficulties, based on research in the neurosciences. He explains why traditional parenting and treatment often don’t work with these children, and he describes what to do instead. Instead of relying on rewarding and punishing, Dr. Greene’s Collaborative Problem Solving model promotes working with explosive children to solve the problems that precipitate explosive episodes, and teaching these kids the skills they lack.

Sari Solden’s groundbreaking study reveals that ADD affects just as many women as men, and that the resulting depression, disorganization, anxiety, and underachievement are also symptoms of ADD. Newly revised and updated to reflect the latest clinical research, the book explores treatment and counseling options, and uses real-life case histories to examine the special challenges women with ADD and ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) face, such as the shame of not fulfilling societal expectations. Included is a brand new chapter on friendship for women with ADHD. Three empowering steps restructuring one’s life, renegotiating relationships, and redefining self-image help women take control of their lives and enjoy success on their own terms.

Why is the CALMFORTER Brand THE WORLDS #1 WEIGHTED BLANKET?

Because we’re obsessed with delivering the highest quality weighted blanket available anywhere. All of our blankets are designed in the USA by a team of highly skilled healthcare professionals. We pioneered some of the industry’s leading technology, like our Evenflow weighting system. Unlike plastic beads sewn into visible squares, Evenflow employs Stardust Minibead 100% Glass Beads combined with CloudSoft Polyfill for better overall weight distribution and a more calming, comfortable and quiet relaxation experience.

We only sell our blankets as a complete 2 part system- an inner weighted section and an outer cover. 2 part blankets simply last longer and are also far more comfortable than a 1 part blanket. 1 part blankets are difficult to wash and dry and wear out quickly because washing and drying the weights destroys the integrity of the fabric and the stitching. 1 part blankets often need to be discarded prematurely. 1 part blankets also often look very therapeutic, something most users are not fond of. Calmforter blankets look and feel more like a regular blanket- just heavier. Our innovative, reversible cover design means you get to choose your therapy. Position the velvety soft smooth side against your body for warmer sleeping OR position the luxurious SensaCool Dot side against your body for cooler sleeping. Weighted blankets can be hot! Only Calmforter blankets feature SensaCool technology to beat the heat.

Many weighted blankets on the market today are still too small; anything less than 60” x 80” often leads to frustrating and disruptive sleep since the weighted blanket falls off the body as you move during the night- completely defeating the benefits of pressure therapy. Begin your journey to more restful sleep, less agitation, less stress and less anxiety today by investing in the Calmforter, the World’s #1 Premium Weighted Blanket.

Do you feel overwhelmed by big projects or lose motivation quickly after starting a task? Do you struggle to manage time efficiently or meet deadlines? Do you routinely misplace things like your keys or sunglasses? Do your big emotions and impulsive behaviors get you into trouble?

If so, you may have an executive function deficit — a hallmark trait of ADHD.

Executive function refers to the cognitive or mental abilities we need to actively pursue our goals and manage everyday life. It’s not that individuals with ADHD have fewer or less effective executive functions. The problem is that executive functioning is applied inconsistently. This occurs when we hyperfocus on interesting tasks but find it painful to focus on what we find boring.

But it’s never too late to improve your executive function skills. The Adult’s Guide to Stronger Executive Functions eBook shows you how.

In its 240+ pages, The Adult’s Guide to Stronger Executive Functions details expert advice and resources spanning the following topics:

To learn, you must first believe you can.

This rings true for all students, but it echoes more loudly for neurodivergent children and teens. However, most educators receive no formal training for teaching students with ADHD and learning differences (LD). As a result, teachers may mistake ADHD symptoms in the classroom for carelessness, defiance, and/or laziness. They may not recognize that executive functions develop more slowly in these students or realize that these deficits impact how they focus, plan, organize, and learn.

With the right tools, educators can unlock a lifetime of positive learning and show students they are capable and resilient. How to Teach (and Inspire) Students with ADHD: A Guide for Educators points the way.

It begins with a simple but critical truth: Students with ADHD learn differently. We identify symptoms of ADHD and learning differences educators seldom recognize at school — and provide solutions for anticipating and addressing each.

Great teachers know that saying the right words in the right way can transform the self-esteem and drive of a formerly defeated student. Here, we highlight how visual and auditory cues and praise make a difference in the classroom. This eBook also provides teachers with communication strategies and scripts to help increase confidence, self-advocacy, and productivity in students with ADHD and LD.

In its 225+ pages, How to Teach (and Inspire) Students with ADHD: A Guide for Educators details expert advice and resources spanning the following topics:

    • Surprising ways ADHD shows up in the classroom
    • How executive function deficits impact learning
    • Why praise is important for children with ADHD and LD
    • How teachers can support twice-exceptional students
    • Ways to boost confidence and motivation in students
    • Why school stress is toxic for students with ADHD and LD
    • How to recognize — and prevent — student burnout
    • And much more!

Above all, educators will gain insights into engaging, inspiring, and multi-sensory teaching strategies that support and prepare children and teens with ADHD to succeed in the classroom and beyond.

8-PART GUIDE TO TEACHING (AND INSPIRING) STUDENTS WITH ADHD

Most people have been led to believe that ADHD looks like a 9-year-old boy who can’t sit still.

But most people are wrong… Due to the gender gap in medical research that perpetuates these myths, many ADHD women are left to navigate a society that fails to understand their struggles and gifts.

By dismantling the long-standing stereotypes and misinformation surrounding women with ADHD, Otsuka offers a beacon of hope for any woman looking to transform her symptoms into strengths. Comprehensive, lively, and long overdue, ADHD for Smart Ass Women is the key to unlocking unparalleled potential and to understanding your truly magnificent and brilliant brain.
